In the next talk by architect developers, Sophie Goldhill will discuss the practice’s latest project – the redevelopment of a former printworks in Margate, Kent, located in the heart of the town's Art District.
Goldhill co-founded architecture andi interior design studio Liddicoat & Goldhill with her husband DavidLiddicoat in 2010. Their first development was their own home in Camden, north London followed by a house in Hackney, east London, also for themselves.
The Margate project s a combination of new build, renovation, commercial and residential.
The series is aimed at architects who would like to know more about the opportunities and challenges around being an independent developer, including spotting creative solutions that a non-architect developer will often miss.
Amanda Baillieu and Gus Zogolovitch set up Developer Collective in 2018 to teach professionals how to become design-led property developers and give them the contacts and resources to deliver their projects. Their book How to be an Architect Developer was published in September.
The ticket price includes drinks and nibbles with 20% of the ticket price going to charity Furnishing Futures.
This event is supported by Land Tech and The Building Society.
